Window Tint Cost: What Goes Into the Price
What decides the price of car window tint: film level, how many windows, the windshield, old tint removal, and your vehicle. From our Wildwood tint shop.

Window tint quotes can range a lot, and the cheapest one usually isn’t the same product as the others. Here’s what actually goes into the price of car tint, so you can compare quotes fairly.
We don’t post prices on our site, because they depend on your vehicle. We quote from your year, make, and model, so you know your price before you drop off.
1. The film
The film is the biggest difference between quotes. We only use ceramic film for car windows, in two levels:
- Premium Comfort (ceramic): blocks 88% of the heat you feel and keeps the cabin about 32° cooler. Our most popular option.
- Max Comfort (super ceramic): our highest heat rejection, blocking up to 96% of the heat you feel and keeping the cabin about 35° cooler.
Both block 99% of UV, both have no metal in them, so your phone, GPS, and SunPass work normally, and both carry a lifetime warranty on the film and our labor.
Cheaper quotes are often dyed film. It darkens the glass but does little for heat, and it tends to fade and turn purple over time.
2. How many windows
- Front two windows only: for SUVs and trucks with factory privacy glass in the back. Our Front Match package tints the two front roll-down windows to blend with the factory glass. It’s often about an hour.
- Full car: the side windows, the back glass, and the windshield.
More glass means more film and more time.
3. The windshield
The windshield is the biggest piece of glass on the car and lets in a lot of heat. Tinting it is a separate piece of work, and on some jobs it’s the only window that gets film.
4. Your vehicle
Number of windows, the size of the glass, and the shape all matter. A steeply curved back window has to be shaped to the glass so the film lies flat, and a three-row SUV has a lot more glass than a coupe.
5. Removing old tint
If your car has old film that’s bubbling or turning purple, it has to come off first. That means stripping the film and adhesive and cleaning the glass carefully around the defroster lines, then installing new film the same day.
6. Optional add-ons
Our No-Fault Protection add-on covers damage from outside causes, like a seatbelt buckle or a dog’s claws catching the film. The lifetime warranty already covers bubbling, peeling, fading, and cracking.
What doesn’t change the price
The shade. Every shade from 75% to 5% is the same price. With ceramic film, the heat block is in the film, not the darkness, so pick the look you like. We’ll help you choose shades that keep you legal under Florida law. Our Florida tint law guide explains the limits.
Why some tint is so cheap
- Dyed film that fades and turns purple
- No warranty, or a warranty on the film but not the labor
- Film cut by hand on the car with a blade, instead of computer-cut to your glass
- Installed outdoors, where dust ends up under the film
What’s included with ours
